Well, we have some pretty awesome news. After a mad rush to get passports and Visas done in time we can now finally say that we are going to Finland!
We are going to AppCademy, the 4 week Seed Acceleration Program from AppCampus held in Espoo, Finland.
Here is their summary:
Participants will be coached on creating Apps delivering a great user experience. This intensive training camp will cover areas such as branding, design, user experience, WP development & quality assurance, monetization, marketing & distribution, communications, fundraising, and customer development.
The topics will be covered with speeches from global experts, lectures with hands-on and workshops, supported by a pool of experienced coaches.
The trip is for the whole of March (1st to 29th), and both John (our Conceptual Engineer) and myself are going.
In terms of progress we are currently working on the game art and prototypes. We’re going to be making final decisions soon about what tech to use – but it looks like we will probably go with SharpDX which is an awesome project allowing DirectX development in .NET.
Here’s a quick render of one of our first [unfinished] weapons:
We will hopefully post a few times during the course of AppCademy – but if South Africa has taught me anything, it’s to never take internet access for granted.
